Is Old Computer Stuff Sad?

Which brings us to the question, is collecting old computer stuff "sad," as Zeph's friends seem to think, when he text messaged him about this site? Well, perhaps so, but we like it "old skool" anyway, don't we, Zeph? :)

COMING SOON to the Museum: a new exhibit. But I want you to vote. Would you rather see the Geek T-Shirt Gallery, with an assortment of AOL and other computer t-shirts... or, more disks? It's up to you. Or, if there's anything else you want to see, let me know that too.

NEW: The AOL Old-Timer Mug!
The AOL Old-Timers Reunion Mug
I just came from a wonderful party at the fabulous home of an early AOL employee. I got to catch up with a lot of folks who I used to work with at AOL. I'll be reporting more about the fete soon, here, but meantime seeing all the old Q-Link, PC-Link, AppleLink, and AOL
t-shirts inspired me to finally photograph my t-shirt collection.

Who are these smokin', drinkin', bettin' bunnies, you ask? They're part of our NEW exhibit: Tribute to RabbitJack's Casino! With memories from the QRJs themselves..

-----------------------------------------------

And let's see, what else...

Ah yes...mugs!

MO' MUGS! MO' MUGS! MO' MUGS!!

These lovely mugs are courtesy of Tom in Reston, the winner of our 2002 Contest. Just ask Tom if dreams really don't come true!

Post a message about AOL -- memorabilia, nostalgia, etc.! here.

Introducing: The Shirts

Q-Link Sweatshirt

Here's the oldest shirt I believe I own, a Q-Link sweatshirt. More to come..watch this space for the whole collection.

We will also be running a tribute to Bill von Meister. (Who was Bill von Meister, you ask? Well, he founded a little company called Digital Music (can anyone say 'Napster'?), which begat CoVideo (can anyone say 'Atari'?), which begat Quantum Computer Services (can anyone say 'Commodore 64'?), which in turn begat...begat...America Online (can anyone say...oh, forget it!)

Did you catch Julia on WashingtonPost.com's LiveOnline chat this past July 2002? No? Not to worry! Check it out here.
